1- 2 Everyone taps foot three times in rhythm with the words;
3- 4 Everyone claps hands three times in rhythm with the words;
5- 6 "It" in center of circle beckons to a person in the circle;
7- 8 The person beckoned goes to the center and joins hands with "it."
9-16 The children in the center skip around inside the circle while all the others sing.
As the music nears the end of the phrase, the person who was originally "it" joins the circle, while the person who was chosen remains in the center for the next repetition of the dance.
Note: After the children have learned the dance, you may have two or more children in the center. Another variation is to have both "it" and the person chosen to remain in the center for the next time through the dance.
